Blue Ring on Green

I really like this photo.  It was one of those sudden "OH MAN!" moments that had me reaching for the camera as others looked on and shook their heads.  They couldn't see it from my mind's eye, but after the shot was taken they had their own "WOW!" moment.

That's what I like about photography and art.  Letting others experience your own personal moments.

Graphic Designs

Sometimes the most common items can give cause for a nice design.  I call this set "Graphic Designs" because these are the items that are setting on my drawing table.

Two-4-Today

Here are two more photos from the weekend shoot.  Man, I wish I had everyday just to be outside looking for good photo material!  It was a lot of fun, even in the cold temps.

"Park Bench in Snow"
Alum Reservoir Spillway.
I manipulated this one a bit in Elements 6.  Took out a bunch of brown earth clods and added the Sponge Effect.  I like this one a lot.

"King of the Mountain"
Hoover Reservoir Spillway.

Can you see him up there?  Looks like lightening bolts coming down on him as well.  This photo was created when water seeped through the concrete walls and froze.  I enhanced the color just a tad.

Three Things to Share

Haven't shared much on here lately and thought I'd post a few things.

Not sure what I'd do without my bird feeder.  Something about a Cardinal in the dead of winter that gives one hope for Spring.  They sure are pretty birds.

I took this photo of a snow storm on the move towards Sunbury, Ohio and then went into my Photoshop Elements and created this textured painting.  Wish actual painting was that easy to do!

This was an uninteresting photo of two potted plants by the patio door.  I took it into Photoshop Elements and used a watercolor pallet knife to create what I feel is a nice piece to look at.

1-11-11 Snow Stuff

Went out back today to fill the bird feeders.  Had to stop and take a photo of the bird house.
I think who ever lived there went south for the winter.
Lucky birds.

I shoveled the front walks and drive but let the back steps alone.
No use over doing it.  I need to save my energy for the next snow storm.

Here's what my day of sales calls looked like.
Everyone driving around at 35 - 40 mph.
That's a good thing.
I didn't see one ditched car and not a single snow plow.

One-Two-Three Red Light

No story.  Just me sitting at Africa Road and Polaris waiting for the light to change and anxious to get home.

Crystal Winter Morn

The scene that I woke up to this morning. Sunrise coming through the trees and high-lighting the ice crystals that frosted up the trees.

Birds and Rocks

Here's a few photos fresh from the camera.

I get a lot of visitors at my bird feeder.  I snapped these two photos today.

Three Things

Just a few more photos from my spill-over file.  Nothing all that great here.  Mostly just trial and error stuff. The last photo was me trying to do something creative with a photo that I posted on my Project 365 blog.  I used Picnik, an online photo effects tool.

Leftovers

I am finding that "ItsJustBudsStuff" is a good place for me to place a few "leftovers" from the handful of photos I shoot to pick my daily "Project 365" photo from.  The sunset was just this evening, on my way home.  The other was from last weekends farm visit.

Odds and Ends/Bits and Pieces

Just a few others that I had saved away.  I suppose one of these days I'll get bored with this blog not post anything for, ohh.. 2 or 3 days.  ;-)

Trip to the Farm

Probably one of my most favorite places to take photos is out on a farm somewhere.
Over by the city of Lithopolis there is Slate Run Historical Farm.  It is a working 1880s farm where you can go and watch the people farm like they did way back then.  Unfortunately, it is past "tourist" season so the 2 guys there today were just making sure the chores got done.  Below are a few of my favorite photos from today's journey.

Probably my favorite one of the day.  I like the contrast in colors AND the contrast in textures.

Close up of the spout on the old wooden water pump.

Again, color, texture and contrast.  Makes a pleasing shot.

Old metal wheel of some kind.

Hey, ya can't go to a farm without stopping to say "Hello!" to the pigs!

Sugargum Tree.  When I seen it, I immediately thought that it was nature's Christmas ornaments.
