Winter at Alum

The snow came down pretty heavy today, March 30th.  I pulled into the Alum Creek State Park picnic and boat launch area (there was actually a couple guys launching their boat!) and snapped this photo of the heavy white stuff coming down.

Love's In The Air.. Still

Five weeks and Four days later, "Love" is still in the air!  These are the Valentine Day balloons Barbara gave to me at work back on Feb. 14th.  Sadly, 2 have dropped but these three still seem to be holding their own!  Amazing.

Soft Graffiti

Inside Delaware County's only Covered Bridge on Chamber's road is this colorful piece of graffiti. Besides the colors and overall design, I like this photo because of what it tends to do to the eye.  You may think  the photo is out of focus, but in reality that look is caused by the feathering of the spray paint.  The wood that it is painted on is in focus.

Hail Today

Came home to a bunch of 1/4 inch size hail all over the place!  Sure glad it was small stuff and no damage was done to anything.

A Train, A Falls, A Moon

Spent the day down in Nelsonville and then over to Ash Cave in Hocking Hills.  Here's a few photos from the outing.

Does this mess with your eyes?  The sharp focus of the train car handrail sort of clashes with the blurry cast shadows of a tree.  All in all, this works pretty good for me.

This is the falls at Ash Cave.  Took a lot of photos but NONE of them even come close to the actual onsite experience.

Back in Nelsonville at the Hocking Valley Railroad.  Was kind of cool to look up and not only see a crescent moon, but also some fuzzy spring buds on the tree!

Wooly Beef

Found this fella all decked out in his winter coat while driving a back road from Sunbury to Delaware today.  This is actually a breed called Highland that originated in Scotland. There was too much water and snow in the ditch to get any closer.  In my first photo of him all I could see was his eyes up, but then he raised his head for the camera and I was able to get more of him in.  I think he's pretty cool looking.

Inniswood Metro Park Photos

A few additional photos from my lunch break at Inniswoods Metro Park today.  So sunny, warm and peaceful!  I sure did need it.

Marbles in the Mortar. They were all over the place but this was the only well lit shot of some.

Sunlight on dried leaves.

Spring Flowers.
